Pollentia

Today I decided to go off on my own and do some sightseeing. I rented a bike and basically biked to the next town (it was a lot farther than it looked on the map) it also didn't help that somehow I went off on a wrong tangent and ended up in a different town, but no matter I made my way to where I was going. I essentially wanted to go see the Roman ruins that are on the island, and lucky for me I happened to be on the right street and pass right by the entrance, so I made it to the sight. I found it very interesting with remains of 3 houses, a forum, and a theater carved out of the rock. It was pretty cool. After that I walked down the street to the city gates and city wall that were built in like 1200 or something like that. You could actually climb the stairs on the wall and walk on the top of it. The whole thing was pretty nice and inside the walls are portions of the city with narrow little streets that reminded me a lot of Rome. Tomorrow we hope to go on a boat excursion and hopefully the weather fairs nicely.
