4th Advent

Today we all went to see Urs's mother in the nursing home that she lives in. They were having a Christmas celebration for the 4th advent for all the families. Overall it was quite nice with lots of cookies and cake and other sweets, plus sandwiches and drinks. There was a piano player as well and we sang Christmas songs. 2 of the songs were exclusively German, so I can't give you a comparative song, but we also sang Silent Night and O Christmas Tree in german. I snatched the paper with the words on it so you can have a taste of the german translation (or technically the other way around, but you know what I mean).

So we're all gearing up for Christmas here. They tend to do most of the celebrations on Christmas Eve. So we will open presents and have a nice dinner and sing songs and whatnot on that day. And to be honest I'm not entirely sure what they do on the actual Christmas day but I guess I will find out.
