Extended Christmas

On Sunday some of Andrea's family came to visit. This included Opa Hans Peter and Oma Karin as well as her sister Simone and nephews Isma and JJ. Ryan was quite excited and even more excited at the thought of more presents. He received some more books and also some more equipment for his marble run (which I will throughly have fun with a little bit later). Oma Karin also gave me a very nice purple sweater that I like quite a lot and a nice calender that's a bit hard to describe but I will try to. It is a weekly calender and each week has a different postcard from Switzerland. I like it because I've gotten into collecting postcards from each place I visit. We all enjoyed ourselves and then had a nice dinner that Andrea made (with the new dishes that Urs and she bought for themselves for Christmas). Afterwards we played some fun games with the boys and had lots of laughs.

Then yesterday morning we all went out sledding in the snow (minus Urs who went into town to take care of funeral arrangements for his mother). The hill we were at was quite big and made for great sledding. The first time I went down I completely wiped out, but after that I was used to it and able to control it. Going back up the hill was quite grueling actually as it was a little bit steep. The boys went down several times and Ryan even walked back up that hill at least 5 times. He was so tired and his cheeks were so rosy red from the cold and excercise. I went down about 3 times myself and then stayed at the bottom of the hill to watch because it was so cold and the sun was shining at the bottom, whereas at the top there was a tree blocking the sun and it was much colder. Then we took it easy in the afternoon and had another very nice dinner and played some more games afterward. They've left this morning already, but not before I was asked to take a family photo. I took several so hopefully there is at least 1 good one in there.
