So today I was left alone with Ryan for a bit to play. We managed I suppose, but at times he looked a little bored. Every time I tried to say something in German he mostly just stared at me like why is this crazy woman trying to talk to me and not making any sense. But I did ask him a few questions that he understood. Then we went to go see the pigs, and his dad tried to put him in a snow suit that Ryan just absolutely fought him over. That child threw a fit like you wouldn't believe. From what I can tell he is very used to getting his way, and I see why as his parents tend to yield and coddle him. But he is not my child and it is certainly not my place to offer parenting advice. For the most part he seems to be a pretty good kid, except when he is in a bad mood. But anyway back to the story. His dad managed to wrestle the snowsuit on him and put him into the stroller and the child proceeded to cry (nearly scream) for a good 15 minutes while we were walking down the road. So I have a sense of what he can be like, which if he starts screaming while I'm trying to put him in a stroller than he can just forget about going out.

Anyway, tomorrow I'm making tacos for dinner and hopefully they turn out ok.

  1. You know, sometimes I think it's easier to enforce discipline with kids that aren't yours. I've seen it at church a lot. Good luck!
